A common non-compliance issue for a pool barrier is the state and content of the CPR sign. Since August 30th, 2018, the contents of the CPR sign have changed slightly.
Below are the new must haves on a compliant CPR sign in NSW:
- Young children should be actively supervised when using this swimming pool
- Pool gates must be closed at all times
- Keep articles, objects and structures clear of the pool fence at all times
The above can be in upper- or lower-case writing.
A compliant CPR sign has Basic life support instructions listed as DRSABCD with relevant explanations. It must also have the date of printing.
A compliant CPR sign must be in good condition, it must be clearly visible from 3m and within the vicinity of the pool.
